Dean Property Group is a privately owned company which specialises in commercial properties in the industrial and leisure sectors. Headed by managing director Mike O’Donnell and co-director Jonathan Beever.

Mike became director of Deans in 1995 after working at PwC (Manchester) and attending Bath University (BSc Business Administration). The main focus has remained with increasing the value of income producing property assets. Mike is a keen cyclist.

Jonathan came on-board in 1999 with a background in construction and asset management Jonathans’ pragmatic and hands-on approach has assisted Mike to seek out opportunities and maximise value by overseeing many refurbishment projects and acquisitions. Today Jonathan manages the portfolio assisted with the help of Richard and Angela by negotiating lease renewals, rent reviews and on-going improvements to the various properties. Jonathan prides himself on good landlord/tenant relationships and to providing a good service to the 350 tenants under his responsibility and likes to maintain a personal interest in the very varied businesses that Dean Property Group accommodates. In his spare time Jonathan enjoys such pursuits as boating, gardening, tinkering with his vintage tractor, horse and dog activities but generally spending time in his man cave!

Anthony became a director of Deans in 1991. He is Non-Executive Chairman of James Halstead PLC. He is a chartered accountant and prominent local businessman.

Property Manager

Angela joined the team in January 2016, initially as assistant to Jonathan and Mike which later progressing to the role of office manager. In 2022 she was promoted to the role of property manager where duties include the preparation and negotiation of leases and instructing refurbishments across the various investments. She also manages the utilities and rates for the portfolio. In her spare time, Angela enjoys kickboxing, boot camp and gardening.

Richard originally hails from Somerset and attended Exeter University. After qualifying as a charted accountant with KPMG he worked as an internal accountant with a firm of Chartered Accountants before moving to Deans in 2015. Richard is responsible for all aspects of accounting, and is heavily involved in all aspects of finance, tax and compliance within the Group. Richard enjoys spending time with his family and walking.

Danielle joined Deans in 2022 after working in an accounts role for a family business. Danielle is currently studying for her ACCA qualifications. She deals primarily with supplier payments and rent collection and assisting Richard in other accounting functions. Much of Danielle’s spare time is spent looking after her two children but when she gets chance she loves socialising with friends and family.
